Scope

In the XXI century most human activities, including sports, are becoming more and more technological. Engineering in general and Information Technology in particular are becoming an important support for many activities directly or indirectly related to sports science, including improvement of physical activities, sports medicine, biotechnology and nutrition, sports management, and all imaginable application areas in sports. This conference intends to be a meeting point of both academics and practitioners, in order to exchange ideas and developed synergies.

Authors should highlight the benefits of any kind of technology for sports either in general of regarding a particular case of application. Ideas on how to identify and approach sports issues using technology will arise from the conference. Papers describing case studies, advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques and general survey papers indicating future directions are encouraged. Papers should describe original work in any of the areas listed below. Accepted papers, presented at the conference by one of the authors, will be published in the Proceedings of icSPORTS, with ISBN, both on paper and digital support. All presented papers will be indexed and included in the SCITEPRESS digital library for increased visibility.

The 6th Conference for Youth Sport, Bled, 6 - 9 December 2012

Slovenia has a long tradition in sport, but special efforts are put to physical education of youth. University of Ljubljana is proud to host the 6^th international conference for Youth Sport 2012.

The Conference is a triennial event organised by the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Sport. Continuing the tradition, the 6^th Conference on Youth Sport plans to be a high-level event focused on sport science and sport research in a wide yet well-defined range of thematic areas:

1. Challenges in the field of physical education
2. Sports career dilemmas
3. Education of young athletes
4. Sports injuries of young athletes
5. Sports for children with special needs
6. Principles for sports training in youth sports
7. Athlete, coach and family
8. Open papers

The Conference will be a forum for sport science researchers to gather and extend networking between them; and to integrate doctoral students and young researchers into the field.
